The doctor just left. There’s not a lot of change going on today. They will be giving Lanie more platelets and more blood. Her counts are low, as expected. She will have her lumbar puncture tomorrow afternoon. Dr. B says she’ll have a headache, and she’ll have to lay flat for 30 minutes after, but other than that, she shouldn’t have any other side effects.
As far as last night, Lanie had no fevers. Her headache is still there; it’s been constant. She didn’t feel sick this morning either, and the swelling in her mouth is less bothersome. The doctor looked at it and saw that the lesion seems to be receding and moving backward, which she feels is just its way of healing. Lanie’s mood has been positive. She’s continuing to eat and drink. She has enjoyed the last two days without being attached to a pole, although she’ll need to go back to it later today for fluids.
Today is going to be a good day. We’re taking sculpturing clay up, and we’re going to make the most of the day while Lanie feels okay. I don’t want to be on the computer all day or on our phones. We just want to enjoy being with her and doing things she loves to do. Please keep our family — and Lanie most of all — in your thoughts and prayers. I can’t possibly thank everyone enough with all the prayer, love, and support we’ve been given throughout this short journey. I know we have a long ways to go; so anything and everything positive pushed our way is so greatly appreciated.
Yesterday, we received the link from the friend of Jordan’s who produced a video for Lanie’s Go Fund Me account as a donation to them and our family. His name is Craig Bass and he owns his own production company. We truly appreciate the time he spent making this video. It can be viewed here: Lanie’s Fight Against Leukemia.
